VW Audi Group Car Air Conditioning - Bromham, Chippenham

At Audi VW Centre, we service, regas, and repair air conditioning systems on Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT, and Skoda vehicles, working with both R134a and R1234yf refrigerant gases.

Understanding R134a and R1234yf

Not every car uses the same refrigerant gas, as older models tend to use R134a, while most vehicles manufactured from around 2017 onwards use R1234yf. The two gases aren’t interchangeable, and using the wrong one can damage the system, so it’s essential that the correct gas is identified and used for your specific vehicle.

Signs Your System Needs Attention

Common indicators include:

• Air that isn’t as cold as it used to be
• Warm air blowing even with the system set to maximum cooling
• A musty or unpleasant smell when the air conditioning is switched on
• Unusual noises when the system is running
• Visible moisture or staining around the dashboard vents

Our Process

At Audi VW Centre, our team will start by checking the current gas level and system pressure, along with looking for signs of a leak. The system is then evacuated, recharged with the correct refrigerant for your vehicle, and tested to confirm it’s cooling properly. If we find a leak, we’ll explain what’s involved in repairing it and provide a clear quote before proceeding.

Why Choose Audi VW Centre

Working across both refrigerant types means we can service any Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT, or Skoda regardless of age, using the equipment and gas appropriate to your specific model. Combined with our specialist knowledge of these brands, this ensures the system is recharged correctly and any underlying faults are properly identified rather than masked by a temporary regas.
