VW Audi Group Timing Belts / Cambelts - Bromham, Chippenham

The timing belt is one of the most critical components in your engine. It keeps the camshaft and crankshaft turning in precise synchronisation, and if it fails, the consequences can be severe. On most engines, a snapped timing belt means significant internal damage, often requiring a full engine rebuild or replacement.

The belt doesn’t give much warning before it goes, so replacement at the manufacturer’s recommended interval isn’t a suggestion – it’s essential.

When is a timing belt due?

Replacement intervals vary by manufacturer, engine, and age of the vehicle – typically between 40,000 and 80,000 miles, or every four to five years, whichever comes first. If you’re unsure when yours was last changed, or you’ve bought a used vehicle without full service history, it’s worth getting it checked promptly. At Audi VW Centre, we carry out timing belt replacements across Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda models.

What’s included

We replace the timing belt as part of a full kit, including the tensioner, idler pulleys, and water pump where it’s driven by the belt. Replacing the belt alone and leaving worn ancillary components is a false economy. If those components fail before the next service interval, the belt goes with them.

We use original equipment or equivalent-specification parts throughout, and we’ll always confirm the correct interval for your specific vehicle before the work is booked in.

If you’re not sure when your timing belt is due, get in touch with Audi VW Centre today – you call us, drop in, or use our online booking.
